Hofuf

Hofuf ist die größte Stadt der Al-Ahsa-Oase im Osten Saudi-Arabiens, ein Zentrum des Dattelanbaus und ein Tor zum Erbe der Region.

Hofuf (arabisch: الهفوف) ist eine Stadt in der Ostprovinz Saudi-Arabiens und die größte Siedlung der Al-Ahsa-Oase. Al-Ahsa ist eine der größten Naturoasen der Welt und gehört zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.

Wirtschaft

Die Oase Al-Ahsa ist berühmt für ihre Dattelpalmen, von denen es mehr als zwei Millionen gibt, und für ihr traditionelles Bewässerungssystem aus Quellen und Kanälen. Die Stadt ist ein Zentrum der Dattelindustrie des Königreichs.

Erbe

Hofuf verfügt über eine Reihe historischer Stätten, darunter den Qaisariya-Markt, die Jawatha-Moschee und den Ibrahim-Palast, und ist ein Tor zur umliegenden Oase und ihrem Erbe.
