The Eastern Province (Arabic: المنطقة الشرقية) is the largest of the thirteen regions of Saudi Arabia by area, covering the country's Persian Gulf coast and its hinterland.
Economy
The province contains the great majority of Saudi Arabia's oil reserves and the principal oil facilities of Saudi Aramco, including the Ghawar field, the largest conventional oil field in the world. The industrial cities of Jubail and Ras Tanura are located here.
