Vision 2030 (Arabic: رؤية 2030) is a strategic framework launched by Saudi Arabia in April 2016 to diversify the economy away from oil and to reform society and government.

Objectives

The programme aims to increase the private sector's share of the economy, expand the tourism and entertainment sectors, develop new industries, and increase the participation of women in the workforce. It is organised around themes of a vibrant society, a thriving economy and an ambitious nation.

Major projects

Vision 2030 has driven major projects such as NEOM, the Red Sea Project, the development of Al-Ula and the expansion of the entertainment sector, including the hosting of international sporting and cultural events.

Significance

Vision 2030 is the central policy framework of contemporary Saudi Arabia and has reshaped the Kingdom's economy, society and international profile.
