Najran (Arabic: نجران) is a city in the south of Saudi Arabia and the capital of Najran Province, near the border with Yemen.

History

Najran was historically an important stop on the incense trade routes and the centre of a Christian community in pre-Islamic Arabia. The nearby archaeological site of Al-Ukhdud (the "trench") is associated with a massacre of Christians recorded in the Qur'an.
