概要

アル・アハサ (アラビア語: الأحساء) は、ホフーフ市を中心とするサウジアラビア東部州のオアシスです。世界最大級の自然のオアシスで、2018 年にユネスコの世界遺産に登録されました。

このオアシスには 200 万本を超えるナツメヤシの木があり、天然の泉と運河のネットワークによって灌漑されています。何千年もの間継続的に定住しており、古代ディルムンとその後の文明の主要な中心地でした。

この場所は、継続するオアシス文化と王国の主要な農業の中心地の注目に値する例であり、遺産と農業に興味のある訪問者の目的地です。
