Aperçu
Saudi Aramco (arabe : أرامكو السعودية) est la société pétrolière et gazière nationale d'Arabie saoudite, dont le siège est à Dhahran. C'est l'une des plus grandes entreprises au monde en termes de chiffre d'affaires et de capitalisation boursière.
Historique
La société a été fondée en 1933 sous le nom de California Arabian Standard Oil Company et a découvert du pétrole en quantités commerciales à Dammam n°7 en 1938. Elle a été entièrement nationalisée en 1980 et rebaptisée Saudi Aramco en 1988.
Opérations
Aramco gère les vastes réserves pétrolières du Royaume, notamment le champ de Ghawar, le plus grand champ de pétrole conventionnel au monde. C'est un important exportateur mondial de pétrole brut et un leader dans la recherche et la technologie pétrolières.
