The Farasan Islands (Arabic: جزر فرسان) are a group of coral islands in the Red Sea, about 40 kilometres off the coast of Jazan in south-western Saudi Arabia.
Nature
The archipelago is known for its coral reefs, its population of the endangered Arabian gazelle, and its importance as a breeding site for seabirds. It was designated a nature reserve in 1996.
Tourism
The islands are a destination for diving and wildlife watching, with regular ferries from Jazan.
