How many regions does Saudi Arabia have?
Saudi Arabia is divided into thirteen administrative regions, each headed by a governor appointed by the King.
The thirteen regions
The regions are Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, the Eastern Province, Asir, Tabuk, Al-Qassim, Hail, Jazan, Najran, the Northern Borders, Al-Bahah and Al-Jawf.
Administration
Each region has a capital city and is administered by a governor and a regional council. The largest by area is the Eastern Province and the most populous is Riyadh Province.
